Me Me Me

Not far from the residence here is one of the roads leading towards several Wales tourist areas. Normally you can just hear the traffic in the distance. For the past few days there has been silence as almost all people have left their cars parked up as per instructions.

It being a warm night I elected to leave the bedroom window open. At some stage of the night I was woken by noises wafting in through the window, to my puzzlement. I discover that the noises were from a number of despicable people driving under the cover of darkness to get to holiday locations either in their camper vans or to holiday cottages. Creeping along in the dark to avoid being questioned by the police. or anyone else for that matter.

The selfishness of these morons is almost beyond comprehension. I can only hope that their vehicle breaks down in particularly awkward spot where the local garage will decline to help them or that their campervan gets sprayed copiously by a farmer happening to pass by with his muck spreader.

BUT I do nevertheless also remind myself of the many others living in cities who have accepted that they have to remain at home over the holiday period. Crack open another bottle of Prosecco to console yourselves.

Today’s positive. The local fish and chip shop, which has been shut opened today to send out via volunteer carriers 250 fish and chip suppers free of charge to local people – care homes and older people who have to stay at home at present. A gesture to cheer people up they said. How very nice.

THEY MISSED ME OUT!!!
