This you may remember is the self entitled MP who at the height of lockdown sent his family out of London from their home there, not to his house in his constituency even, but to a very nice country property he had bought as an investment, but hardly ever been near. It suddenly became his “family home”. He stayed in London but then against all the rules drove to join his family. Next he proceeded to drive to visit his parents who lived 60 odd miles away. Alright for him of course he was a Government Minister.

Now he reappears with this possibly dubious planning application put in by a mate of his for a major building project on the Isle Of Dogs. Which he as Housing Minister approved against the advice of his officials. Now it may be that this is a good project; maybe not. What is not in doubt is that if it goes ahead it will make a great deal of money for someone, his mate to be precise.

The real problem is that whether or not it stinks, it smells as if it does. If you are the Minister and your mate puts in an application the first thing you do is have nothing to do with it. Drop it like a .hot potato. Pass it to someone else to deal with and keep completely out of it. It’s the arrogance here once again. I can do what I want and you little people can lump it.

Final thought politicians and property developers do not go well together. Final, final thought – who is doing up his nice country property?

Starmer done the right thing with a minimum of fuss. She has “form” as far as anti Semitic comments go. So latest offering just not acceptable. She stood as Leader and lost by a distance. Starmer was gracious enough to give her a job and made it clear anti Semitism had to go from Labour and she then does this. Only one answer – goodbye.
