Boris got around to dealing with the question of the hour. If you are a single person living on your own you may now enter into an agreement with one other household to form a bubble and visit and entertain members of that household in close contact and indeed stay or entertain overnight. That is the edict and a great relief to many people in England I am sure.

However let us examine the possibilities that it opens up. The single person can enter into this arrangement with another household of any number of people of either sex (or both). This opens up endless possibilities. Let us look at it from the perspective of a frustrated young lady (same would apply to frustrated young bloke, or frustrated older lady or anyone else). She can chose to go in a bubble with a household of say 6 blokes or 6 girls or 3 of each. She can then visit that house, stay overnight and have close relations (bonk) with between one and six of the members of that household. Alternatively she could invite between one and six members of that household to visit her, stay overnight and have close relations with one or more of them – get the picture. Imagine the ads that will fly around – fit lad living alone looking for household of four or more girls to bubble with.

Stick with our young lady however. If she was really well organised she could arrange a Tuesday to Sunday rota allocating a night of the week to each one and text them in the morning telling them which take away and which bottle of wine to bring round or arrange to be delivered. The rota could be altered on performance (various categories) with Friday and Saturday spots given to favoured members of the bubble. Probably best to have Monday off to recover. There are other possibilities that you can work out if you put your mind to it.

So Boris has come good and delivered. Only in England though. In Wales I don’t think Mr Drakeford has quite the imagination to match it. But then neither does he have Boris’s track record.
